First thing's first: Buy some of these: http://www.amazon.com/12-Chinese-Finger-Trap-Assorted/dp/B0019YMP9A. Buy 8 sets of them, just in case. Then, walk around with your flipper-fingers in one of them and look REALLY depressed.

haha...Blastit is funny! And if you can do that, maybe you won't need a mask?
Anyway, I would have no idea where to start. Obviously visiting the appropriate base through the Rebel Legion would be my first recommendation. I've never seen an Ackbar mask (or gloves) for sell. I'm wondering if they're all custome made? I can carve up teeth real good, but a face mask? I've never tried. I can, however, help out with a face cast, if you need one. We just need to set up a time and place to get messy with tons of alginate and plaster. But I tell you...if we were to custome make a face mask with the appropriate make-up for Ackbar...we're gonna do one for the Emperor for me!

Okay...just did a quick browse at the RL forums. There's no base or website dedicated to Ackbar. There's only one thread dealing with Ackbar and there's very little info there. The clothes are fairly easy to do (well, depending on what you call "easy") as this part of the costume really only involves material and sewing. The mask/gloves are another story. There's apparently a Rubies mask available. Other than that the VERY few people that have done an Ackbar seem to have either molded and cast their own mask/gloves out of latex OR have gotten someone do it for them. I've posted in these forums requesting mask/gloves info. If anyone replies, I'll pass along vendor information.
If you want to sculpt your own and need help, let me know.
