Today's update:

Bucket is looking mighty fine for a JM v1... nice and smooth. Red paint will go on Saturday, weather permitting.

Reworking the grappling hook launcher, since the one I made sits all wrong on the left forearm. May just do the yellow buttons for now.

Speaking of forearms, I glued the right one incorrectly (over a year and a half ago), so the velcro side is on the top... which makes the gap highly visible. Tried to separate the backside with a paint scraper, but only succeeded on about 4 inches in the middle. Will give it another go in the morning. If that doesn't work, might have to order a new set from Corey -- it's just way too noticeable.

Resin compad is painted yellow and weathered.... but just looks way too detailed for the look I want (hybrid movie/animated/comics). Might take a pencil rubbing off Red's animated compad and scratch build the sucker.

Decided today to make my own holsters, since I can't find anything pre-made to use. Rather than making ABS/glue brackets for the inside, gonna try to use small metal brackets and rivets. Holsters will hang from the belt by 2" white leather straps, riveted on both ends.

mini update:

All white pieces have a fresh coat of paint to match the bucket, minus the belt. Two coats of red are already on the mohawk, so I'll be finishing that part up tonight. If time permits, I'll go ahead and paint up the grey area on the back of the helmet.

Made a bit more progress in separating the bottom side of the right forearm. Unfortunately, I'll probably wind up having to sand the crap out of the top side and repaint both forearms to match.

well, Captain Fordo won't be done in time for WSMI opening weekend, but should be good to go a week or two after. At any rate, thought I'd post a pic of the bucket. Still gotta get a new visor, add the padding & mesh, paint the chin greeb, and weather.

Other than that, it's finished.
